Motorsport Fabricator and Technician

Do you want to design race cars, fabricate motorsport components, and be part of a championship winning race team? O.D.D. Racing is hiring a full-time motorsport fabricator with mechanic skills to join to their team in Greeley, Colorado. 

The team builds, supports, and maintains a variety of race cars that compete in sanctioned events throughout the US. The Fabricator will assist in the manufacturing and fabrication of race car chassis and builds. Working independently, they will execute the design and ideas collaborated on by the team. The candidate will be a part of a professional race team and ensure the cars make it to every race.

Our ideal candidate is a gearhead with a solid welding foundation. They need a creative mindset to bring our designs to completion. The candidate should be independent and adaptable to work within the team dynamics of a small company. They should be passionate about motorsports and take pride in the work. The candidate should be able to have fun at work and not mind the shop dog deciding its play time during business hours.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Assist in design and fabrication of race car safety structure (roll cages) which must pass certain specifications

· Design and build components of the car including but not limited to suspension, brakes, etc.

· General MIG and TIG welding duties as related to fabrication

· Fabrication of exhaust systems

· Ability to work with different metals; including but not limited to steel, stainless, and aluminum. 

· Maintain an established level of work quality as set by shop foreman

· Basic metal working for fabrication

· Inspect and general repair of race cars post event

· Follow and maintain shop safety standards

· Maintain work area and general shop cleanliness

· Work independently with basic direction and goals

· Participate in monthly team meetings

· Optional weekend travel with the team to events and work to maintain vehicles on-site

· Maintain level of confidentiality around builds and designs

Qualifications and Skills:

· Metal fabrication experience required

· Welding certifications beneficial but not required

· Basic automotive mechanical knowledge and experience

· Proven ability to carry out tasks and projects independently and on schedule

· Valid state driver’s license and ability to be insured for operation of company vehicles

· Must be able to provide basic hand tools to perform duties

· While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
